Pieces made of Maitea Medical Grade Stainless Steel
Our medical grade stainless steel is the cleanest grade and highest quality, in both silver and gold tones. It’s the most reliable material for jewelry. With normal care (avoiding harsh chemicals or extreme exposure), it can last a lifetime.
All of our medical grade stainless steel pieces come with a two-year warranty against tarnishing, corrosion, or fading. If something happens within that time, we’ll happily replace your piece or send you a new one — no questions asked.
Pieces made of Maitea 925 Sterling Silver
925 sterling silver doesn’t change color, but like all real silver it can develop a light patina over time or when exposed to humidity or acidity. That’s nothing to worry about — it’s completely normal and can easily be cleaned with a silver cloth. If you’re nearby, we also offer a free jewelry cleaning service in our Maitea Store in Berlin, Friedrichshain.
Pieces made of Maitea Gold-Coated 925 Silver
This is the one material that needs a little extra care. Gold coated silver can’t be made fully waterproof, which means the gold layer will slowly wear down over time and reveal the silver base - that’s expected.
To help you care for these pieces properly, we provide a clear Material & Product Care Guide with every order and in-store purchase, and we explain this to every customer who buys this beautiful material. The most important thing to remember: gold-coated silver is not waterproof. Please keep it away from water, sweat, and humidity to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
We use a thick gold coating plus an extra protective layer, so with the right care, these pieces will still stay beautiful for a long time.
